Hair Care Guide
Washing your Dream Hair
In general, you always want to treat the hair like you would your own. Make sure to use a wide tooth comb to remove all tangles before you wash your hair or go to sleep at night. Some shampoos can be too harsh for your hair extensions. Use sulfate-free shampoos and moisturizing conditioners. If using clarifying shampoos only use every two weeks as they tend to dry your hair. Then wash hair normally and follow with conditioner.

Wash Day!
Sew A'Dream Hair believes in not only having a flawless install, but fabulous natural hair! Because of this we suggest not only caring for your Rose Gold Hair extensions, but your natural hair as well!
1. Prepoo with your favorite essential oils. the night before. Do not rinse out! Instead use a plastic cap as sort of a hot oil treatment the night before. If, your hair is sewn in, make sure you purchase a plastic bottle with a nozzle to get underneath your extensions. (can be purchased at Sally’s, Walmart, etc.) Oils we suggest for a prepoo are olive oil, coconut oil, grape seed oil, emu oil, jojoba oil etc.
2. Shampoo, we suggest shampooing with only sulphate free shampoo. Suave, Tressemme, Panteene, Shea Moisture, Carol’s Daughter, etc all have great products. We prefer to shampoo every other week to fully remove all products from your hair. Once a month you can choose to shampoo with baking soda or a clarifying shampoo to fully remove all products. You can use a plastic bottle with a nozzle to shampoo your hair under your extensions. We then suggest shampooing the roots of your hair and allowing the shampoo to wash down your extensions to cleanse the hair.
3. Condition/Co-wash! We recommend co-washing every 3-4 days. Prior to co-washing we suggest detangling your hair with a wide tooth comb. Hair is in a much weaker state while wet, thus finger detangling and/or using a wide tooth comb on dry hair is suggested! Always start at the bottom and work your way up while detangling! Co-washing(washing with only conditioner) will bring needed moisture to your extensions. Use your favorite conditioner, start at your roots and work your way down to the ends of your Sew A'Dream Hair extensions. We do highly suggest parting your hair in 4 sections if you have 2 bundles and/or 18″ or shorter installed. If you have 3 bundles and/or 18″ or longer installed we suggest 6-8 sections. Clip each section prior to entering the shower. You can then let water run on your scalp and condition your roots. Take one section down and apply conditioner from the root, down the shaft of the hair. Do this to all sections, once done rinse your hair with warm water until all product is washed out.
4. Style! After co-washing, we suggest following up with your favorite styling products. We love to use Curls Unleashed Curly Gel, Eco Styling Gel, Shea Moisture Curling Gel, etc.
**RECOMMENDED**
5. Deep Condition, every 2 weeks we suggest deep conditioning your Sew A'Dream Hair extensions under a dryer, steamer, or even by wrapping a plastic cap over your extensions and placing a towel over your head for a couple hours or overnight! Adding heat will allow moisture to penetrate the strands of the hair.
These steps will allow for you to have 3-4 day hair if done correctly and if you wrap your hair at night!
Raw Hair
Sew A'Dream hair extensions are Raw Virgin hair, straight from the donor to you. All of our regimens were built around being able to maintain not only the extensions, but your natural hair! With this, it is important to note, curly hair is high maintenance! And, the tighter the curl, the more work will be required. BUT, we here at Itsherglam.com have tested all patterns and have created hair regimens that work specifically for this reason. And, once you get a groove going, working with our KinkyCurlyGoodness Collection will be a piece of cake!
Please note:
*Curl patterns will bind together if not properly maintained and cleansed often. You will inevitably develop matting and tangling which always leads to shedding, if you allow leave-in conditioners or other hair care products too often and without routinely cleaning the hair.
*Remember, do NOT allow products to build up in your curly hair.
*Care for your hair extensions BETTER than you would care for your hair! Your natural hair comes from your scalp, thus is able to receive nutrients from you to grow and remain healthy. Once this hair was cut from the donor, it no longer has been able to receive those nutrients, it is your job to give the hair the moisture it requires!
*Moisturize, Moisturize… did we mention to MOISTURIZE!!
*Wrap your hair at night! Sew A'Dream Hair extensions are an investment and you want to keep your investment for years to come. It is highly recommended to use the pineapple method at night and to wrap your hair with a silk or satin scarf.
*Heat can be used, but over time will alter/loosen the curl pattern of this hair. Please be mindful of flat ironing and/or blow drying. And only do so on freshly conditioned hair!
Product Suggestions:
1.Denman Brush is a must!
2.Wide tooth comb
3.Hair clips, large ponytail holder, silk/satin scarf.
